As you may know, Council commenced a drainage works upgrade at the Petersen Road Sports Facility late 2025.  Due to ongoing delays with these works and the availability of safe playing surfaces we have had to amend some of our planned dates for Season 1, 2026.

Our new starting dates will be:

Prior to making this decision, the Staff and Committee thoroughly investigated a number of other avenues that would allow our competition to start as scheduled including the use of other sporting facilities. However, due to a number of factors including the size of our competition, game frequency, and the hosting clubs own needs, this just wasn’t a viable option for our Club.

We want to reassure all members that there will be no significant impact to the overall season. The season length and structure will remain the same, just commencing a little later than originally planned.

We have also extended the Early Bird discounted fee until the 27th of March.

Please note the Grand Final dates for Season 1 will be:

To support our new teams ahead of the season start, Dan, our Development Officer, will be running training sessions on Thursday 26 February and Thursday 5 March.

The lights will also be on at Petersen Road on both nights for any teams who would like to join in or run their own training session. Please note that this will be held on the Rugby Union fields.

As normal, we will communicate this information through our social media handles as well. We kindly ask that you help spread the word to your teammates and other players, as not everyone follows our social media pages and emails may occasionally land in junk folders.

We appreciate your understanding and patience while we work through these circumstances. As always, we will continue to keep you updated and look forward to getting Season 1 underway very soon.

• 5-minute changeover between games
